CHRISTMAS GIFT GUIDE #1

I don't think I've ever done a post like this, but I enjoy seeing them on other blogs so I thought I'd join the party and do a few gift guides/wishlist posts for christmas (you now, to ease myself back in to the blogging game). Here are a few things that I own and love or I would like to see wrapped up under the christmas tree!

First Aid Beauty Holdiay Cheers this set is bloody amazing, all of the star products (all full size except the cleanser) together with a very good looking price tag 4. Morphe Brushes are becoming a staple in my collection, they are very high quality at a good price and are definitely worth looking into 5. Daniel Wellington Watches are gorgeous, duhh! Sigma Spa Mats genious gift for the person who owns a whole lot of brushes and wants to get them cleaner faster (and better) 7. theBalm Manizer Sisters all three together in one, beautiful! 8. Facepaint by Lisa Eldridge the perfect book for beauty lovers all over, stunning book where Queen Eldridge goes through the story of makeup 9. Herbivore Activate is a great pore cleansing mask plus the packaging is just flawless (definitely instagram worthy) 10. Völuspá Candles don't only smell delicious, they also look stunning. 

There ya go! For the 100th time, I'm sorry I haven't been blogging. I will try my best not to disappear so often but you know how it is, life just gets in the way! REVIEW • THEBALM MEET MATT(E) HUGHES

COMMITTED* : A PINKY/PEACHY NUDE

CHARMING* : A MAUVE

DEVOTED* : A BRIGHT RED

It's time for my favorite thing, liquid lipsticks. The Balm recently (or not so recently) added liquid lipsticks to their range and they're called Meet Matt(e) Hughes. Available in 8 beautiful shades ranging from nudes to bright pinks up to dark reds. I was lucky enough to receive the three shades that looked fancied me the most and I must say, theBalm did a good job.
As with all products from theBalm, the packaging and shades names are both pretty and fun. It's got a classic doe foot applicator that I find works pretty well for application, a minty scent that I like and the formula is like an in between of the velvety smooth Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet (review) and liquidy-ness of the LA Girl Matte Pigment Glosses (review). Fully opaque at first swipe, totally matte within a few minutes and quite long lasting with out drying out the lips. Because of the non-dryness it doesn't last quite as well as some others, it will rub off when you eat or drink (especially in the middle) but if you're not doing all of that, you should be fine for a good 5-6 hours.
I like these, I think they did a good job, especially with the shade selection. Charming has become a big favorite of mine and the price isn't bad either, only 2890 ISK ($17) on lineup.is!
//Það er kominn tími á uppáhaldið mitt, fljótandi varaliti. The Balm bætti nýlega (eða ekki nýlega) liquid lipsticks við í línuna sína og kallast þeir Meet Matt(e) Hughes). Þeir eru í boði í 8 fallegum litum; allt frá nude til bjartra bleika til dökkrauðra. Ég var svo heppin að fá þá þrjá sem heilluðu mig mest og ég verð að segja, theBalm stóð sig með prýði.
Eins og með allar vörur frá theBalm þá eru pakkningarnar og nöfnin bæði sæt og skemmtileg. Ásetjarinn er klassískur doefoot (íslenska takk?) sem mér finnst virka ágætlega, með góðri myntu lykt og formúlan er eins og blanda af flauelsmjúku Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet (færsla) og fljótleika LA Girl Matte Pigment Gloss (færsla). Þeir þekja alveg í fyrstu stroku, þorna alveg mattir innan nokkra mínútna og endast nokkuð lengi án þess að þurrka varirnar. Þar sem þeir þurrka varirnar ekki þá endast þeir ekki alveg jafn vel og margir aðrir fljótandi varalitir, þessir munu fara af við það að borða og drekka (aðallega í miðjunni) en ef þú ert ekki að því þá endast þeir í alveg 5-6 klukkutíma án vandamála.
Ég er hrifin af þessum, theBalm stóð sig virkilega vel með litina, Charming er klárlega í miklu uppáhaldi. Þeir eru líka á fínu verði, 2890 krónur fyrir stykkið inná lineup.is - ég mæli með! 

MY GO-TO BLUSHES

MAC MINERALIZED BLUSH - WARM SOUL, MILANI BAKED BLUSH - LUMINOSO, MAC POWDER BLUSH - MELBA, TARTE AMAZONIAN CLAY 12-HOUR BLUSH - EXPOSED

Back in the day I was blush obsessed, I found myself buying every blush on the market (seriously), and I tried and tested most of the shades the world has to offer. But now when the blusher obsession has cooled down a bit, I find myself reaching for the same ones over and over again, here are my go-to blushes. Starting off with my all time favorite blush, Luminoso from Milani, the queen of all blushes. It's peachy perfection with a gorgeous glow without any obnoxious glitters. When I want something a tiny bit more natural I go for Warm Soul from MAC, like Luminoso it's a baked blush so it also has that beautiful non-glittery glow. This one isn't as peachy, it's almost like a bronzy peach. The next two aren't quite as glowy and juicy as the baked blushes but they deserve a mention, because, believe it or not, I don't always want a intense cheek. Firstly there is a cult favorite, Melba from MAC, a beautiful matte warm peach that looks very natural on the cheeks but gives that sumthin' sumthin'. Last but certainly not least is Exposed from Tarte, the most natural "barely there" shade I have in my collection. It's a very soft plummy pink that works perfectly when I don't want to distract from the eyes or lips. What are your go-to blushes? //Fyrir nokkrum árum var ég kinnalita sjúk, ég keypti alla kinnaliti sem ég sá og hef prófað flesta liti sem alheimurinn hefur uppá að bjóða. Núna þegar kinnalita brjálæðið í mér hefur róað sig niður virðist ég alltaf teygja mig í sömu kinnalitina aftur og aftur, hér eru mínir go-to kinnalitir.
Byrjum á mínum allra uppaáhalds, Luminoso frá Milani. Hann er hinn fullkomni ferskjulitur sem gefur húðinni fallegan ljóma án glimmers. Þegar ég vil eitthvað aaaðeins náttúrulegra fer ég yfir í Warm Soul frá MAC, hann er bakaður kinnalitur eins og Luminoso og gefur þar af leiðandi fallegan ljóma. Liturinn er eiginlega bronsaður ferskjulitur, hrikalega fallegur.
Næstu tveir eru báðir mattir og eru nokkuð náttúrulegri en bökuðu kinnalitirnir. Melba frá MAC er klassík í beauty heiminum en hann er mjög fallegur hlýr ferskjulitur sem gefur húðinni fallegan lit án þess að verða of klikkaður. Síðast en alls ekki síst er það síðan Exposed frá Tarte, þessi er líklegast náttúrulegasti kinnaliturinn sem ég á. Léttur plómubleikur sem hentar fullkomnlega þegar ég vil ekki draga athyglina frá augunum eða vörunum.
