FOTD | RITA ORA INSPIRED PURPLE SMOKEY EYE

Inspiration picture of Rita Ora looking gorgeous at the Grammy Awards (Photo from Google)

My favorite look from the Grammys this year (make up look that is) was worn by Rita Ora, she had on a gorgeous purple smokey eye. It was simple and pretty. Ever since I saw that I knew I wanted to try it out on myself, I'm not big fan of color on my eyes (I like my bronzes and golds at all times), but it's fun to try out something new from time to time. This was really easy to do and I actually really liked how it turned out, even though I think it doesn't suit my blue eyes nearly as well as it suited Rita's dark brown eyes and darker complexion. As usual the pictures aren't doing this look justice and is making it look more blue than it is, but oh well.

I didn't use a lot of products on the eyes, I smudged MAC Designer Purple eyeliner from the Archies Girls line on my lid. Then I used Voodoo from the Urban Decay Vice 2 palette all over my lid, with a blending brush I blended out the edges with a tiny bit of Texture from MAC to add some depth and warmth. I did the same on the bottom lashline. To make the purple pop a bit more, I dabbed Betrayal (also from Vice 2) over my lid with my finger. I popped on MAC #7 lashes and put MAC Smolder in the waterline and tightline. I highlighted the inner corners of my eyes and my browbone with MAC Shroom eyeshadow.

For the face I first used a tiny bit of Strobe Cream from MAC. For foundation I used Nars Sheer Glow in Santa Fe and I concealed with my MAC Pro Longwear under the eyes. To set the under eye concealer I used Bare Minerals Well Rested. I bronzed my skin with Nars Laguna and I put Wet N Wild Heather Silk on my cheeks. Small amount of Mary Lou-Manizer on my cheekbones to give it a bit more glow. On my lips I used Barely Bold lipliner and Hue lipstick, both from MAC. On the eyebrows I used the ELF Brow Kit in Medium (I only use the gel) and the tiniest bit of MAC Dipdown fluidline. I set them in place using the Anastasia Clear Brow Gel. Voilá! You are done.

Til að setja hyljarann notaði ég Bare Minerals Well Rested púðrið. Ég gaf húðinni smávegis lit með Nars Laguna og á kinnarnar notaði ég Wet N Wild Heather Silk. Ég bætti við smá af Mary Lou-Manizer frá the Balm á kinnbeinin til að gefa smá gljáa. Á varirnar notaði ég Barely Bold varablýant og Hue varalit, bæði frá MAC. Fyrir augabrúnirnar notaði ég ELF Brow Kit í Medium (ég nota bara gelið) og smávegis af MAC Dipdown fluidline. Ég greiði svo Anastasia Clear Brow Gel yfir þær til að halda þeim á sínum stað.
