REVIEW | BARE MINERALS BARE SKIN FOUNDATION

BAREMINERALS BARESKIN FOUNDATION*, BAREMINERALS PERFECTING FACE BRUSH*

BARE FACE VS BARESKIN FOUNDATION

FULL FACE OF MAKE UP USING THE BARESKIN FOUNDATION

I've got an exciting product for you today, the BareSkin* foundation - bareMinerals first liquid foundation. It was released in America earlier this year (and probably other countries as well) and this week it'll finally be available here in Iceland. If you're a loyal YouTube watcher like myself, you've probably seen quite a lot of rave reviews about it - it was kind of a big deal.

This BareSkin foundation is quite unique, not only is it a serum foundation (not water, oil or silicone based like most), it also has it's own little brush. It claims to be tone correcting, brightening and natural - a "ultra-thin, skin-perfecting fluid". I've been trying this out for a while now and I am very pleased, for me it's the perfect every day foundation. I have it in the shade Bare Shell 02 and it matches me perfectly (it comes in 20 shades, ranging from very fair to fairly deep skintones). The consistency is veryyy liquidy so make sure to shake it well before use and be careful not to get it everywhere (I did, twice). On the bareMinerals website they say you only need 1-2 drops, now that's not true (at least not in my case) - I use about 6 drops in total and that leaves me with a lovely natural medium coverage. It's very easy to blend into the skin but because of its serum consistency you can be left with some brush strokes, so I just pat my face with my fingers to make sure it's all even. It has a satin finish, not too matte nor too dewy and it lasts very well, a good 5-6 hours before it starts getting shiny (I have combination/oily skin so I do always powder my t-zone).

Now let's talk about the brush - the Perfecting Face Brush*. This brush is pretty strange, it's one of those dense "flat top kabuki" brushes but it has a dent in the middle - a circle where the hairs are shorter. You are supposed to drop your foundation into the little circle and blend it out. Sadly, I am not a huge fan of this brush. I do think it works nicely with the foundation but I don't find it any better then my other brushes. It's also quite small so it can take a while to blend the foundation into the skin. A nice brush but not necessary.

I must say, I really really like the Bare Skin foundation. For me, it's the perfect every day foundation. Looks natural and is very light on the skin, lasts for hours and the color match is perfect. A big thumbs up from me. The brush is cute and works, but as I said - not necessary. Have you tried the Bare Skin foundation? Do you like it?

    1. MAC Studio Fix Fluid í NW15 passar mér nokkuð vel (kannski örlítið of dökkur).
MUFE HD á ég í litnum N118 en hann er aðeins of dökkur fyrir mig.
      Vonandi hjálpar það eitthvað :)
