MY MAKE UP COLLECTION

It's time for my make up collection! I've gotten sooo many questions on how I store my make up so I decided to do an in depth post before I move. I would've filmed a video on this but I'm still too shy to be on film, so I will just insert pictures and try to explain everything. Hopefully one day, I'll find the courage to start my own YouTube channel - but today's just not the day haha x Hope you enjoy this and if you've got any questions feel free to ask in the comments below!

//Ég er búin að fá ótrúlega margar spurningar um hvernig ég geymi förðunarvörurnar mínar svo ég ákvað að skella loksins í eina langa færslu með myndum áður en ég flyt. Ég hefði tekið upp myndband en ég er enn of feimin til að tala fyrir framan myndavélina, svo ég set bara inn myndir og reyni að útskýra allt eins vel og ég get. Ég er að hugsa um að gera YouTube myndbönd bráðlega - en ekki í dag, ég er ekki alveg tilbúin í það. Vonandi líkar ykkur þessi færsla og ekki hika við að spyrja ef það er eitthvað!

Let's start off with the big items. Most of these are pretty standard and you've probably seen them in other make up collections. The table, drawers and mirror are all from Ikea. The table is from the MALM line and is great for storing make up, the mirror is called STAVE and the drawers are called ALEX and I love them, they are super sturdy and keep a lot of stuff.

I got this little acrylic storage in a store here in Iceland but you can get it on eBay, here.  I can't say I love it but it's fine until I can get my hands on the Muji drawers. The lipstick holder is from Sostrene Grene (as you can tell, I am in need of a bigger lipstick holder). In these drawers I keep my most used lipsticks, eyebrow products and face products. Along with the Nuxe Reve De Miel lip moisturiser and of course, some hand sanitiser.

Varalita hirslan er úr Sostrene Grene en eins og þú sérð þá þarf ég að kaupa mér stærri hirslu fyrir varalitina. Í þessum skúffum er ég aðallega með mínar mest notuðu varaliti, augabrúna vörurnar mínar og mest notuðu andlits vörurnar (fyrir utan farða og svoleiðis).

I keep my brushes in these vases from Ikea (couldn't find a name), they fit pretty snug so I am looking for something else (if you've got any suggestions, please let me know!). I then have a bowl with stuff I haven't tried/need to photograph/need to blog about and in the little candle holders I've got my Beauty Blenders, q-tips, mascara spoolies and a powder puff. These pretty things are from a brand called iittala, the little holders are called Kastehelmi and the big bowl is called Maribowl.

In the drawer of my MALM table I keep most of my most used stuff. From lipliners, to glitters and eyeliners to my blushes and foundations. I mostly keep everything in little boxes from Rúmfatalagerinn but I also cut up some boxes for my lipsticks and glitters.

//Í MALM borðinu geymi ég mest notaða dótið mitt. Farðar, kinnalitir, augnblýantar, glimmer og allt þar á milli. Ég geymi flest allt í plast boxum úr Rúmfó og svo klippti ég líka iittala kassa fyrir varaliti og glimmer.

I keep my most of my palettes on top of my Alex drawers. I found this at a thrift shop and it's from Ikea (it's from the kitchen department), it holds my palettes pretty nicely - cheap and cheerful. There I have my UD Vice 2, 4 MAC palettes, Anastasia Contour Kit, theBalm Meet Matte, UD Naked 1,2 and 3, Lorac Pro, Anastasia Lavish and Nars Guy Bourdin palette. 

//Ég geymi flestar palletturnar mínar ofan á Alex einingunni. Ég fann þessa "hirslu" á nytjamarkaði og það er til í Ikea (í eldhúsdeildinni), það geymir palletturnar mínar nokkuð vel. I keep the rest of my make up in my ALEX drawers. I still have a lot of space left which is great. The stuff I have in there I either don't use that often or doesn't fit in to the MALM table. Also, you know you are a make up hoarder when you have a drawer dedicated to boxes from make up products..

CURRENT FAVORITES

Gee, it's been a while since I last did a favorites post. I feel like my posts always turn out soooo long, so I'll try to keep it short and sweet today. I've been using and loving these products lately, they are all new to my collection except for one old favorite.

I am finally the owner of the award winning and oh so popular highlighting/concealing pen from YSL, yes I am talking about Touche Eclát*. I use it along with my under eye concealer and bring it up on to my cheekbones, down my nose, on my forehead, chin and cupid's bow - basically everywhere. I have it in the #2 shade and it works perfectly for me, a shade or two lighter than my actual skin tone. The texture is light and the coverage is pretty sheer so it looks very natural on the skin and blends easily. Another favorite for highlighting is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light, I've finally fallen in love with this guy! I got it in December and didn't really know what to think of it until a couple of months back, I love it to set my highlight. It's beautiful, looks natural and does definitely brighten things up.

The mascara I've been loving is the Hypnose Drama from Lancome* - another product that everyone seems to love. To begin with the wand was pretty difficult to work with but when you get used to it, the mascara is kinda amazing. It adds tons of volume and length. I wish the formula was a tad bit blacker, but other than that, it's really great. To keep my lips moisturized and soft, the Nuxe Reve Di Miel has changed my life - my lips have seriously never felt better. The texture is a bit more waxy than the usual lip balm. I usually apply it before going to bed and when I wake up my lips are super soft.

Lastly, I've revisited an old favorite - MAC Warm Soul mineralized blush. I recently dyed my hair white (yes, it's actually white - thanks to my amazing hairstylist Eva), so I have been going for more minimal make up so I don't look too over the top. Warm Soul adds a bit of color to my cheeks and I fell like I don't have to use a bronzer with it. It also has a bit of shimmer which gives you a pretty glow. It's such a stunning shade and definitely one of my absolute favorite blushes.

//Díí, það er orðið svo langt síðan ég gerði færslu um uppáhalds vörur augnabliksins. Mér finnst færslurnar hjá mér alltaf verða svo rosalega langar þannig ég reyni að halda þessari í styttri kantinum. Þetta eru þær vörur sem ég er búin að vera að nota helling uppá síðkastið og elska. Þær eru allar nýjar í safnið nema ein gömul uppáhalds.

Ég á loksins hinn umtalaða og margverðlaunaða hyljara/highlighter penna frá YSL, já ég er að tala um Touche Eclát*. Ég nota hann til að birta til, undir augunum, á kinnbeinin, niður nefið, á ennnið, hökuna og fyrir ofan vörina. Ég nota lit #2 sem er fullkominn fyrir mig, 1-2 tónum ljósari en minn náttúrulegi húðlitur. Áferðin er létt og þekjan lítil svo að hann lítur náttúrulega út á húðinni og blandast auðveldlega. Annað uppáhald fyrir fallegt highlight er Ambient Lighting Powder í Diffused Light frá Hourglass. Loksins elska ég þessa vöru! Ég keypti púðrið í NY í Desember en var ekki að fýla það fyrst en núna elska ég það! Fullkomið til að setja hyljarann undir augunum og allsstaðar þar sem þú highlightar. Létt og náttúruleg áferð sem birtir til.

Maskarinn sem ég er búin að vera að nota mikið er frá Lancome og heitir Hypnose Drama* - enn ein varan sem allir elska. Ég þurfti smá tíma til að venjast burstanum en núna finnst mér hann æði. Maskarinn bæði þykkir og lengir augnhárin mjög vel. Til að halda vörunum mjúkum og fínum hefur Reve De Miel frá Nuxe bjargað lífi mínu. Þvílík snilld. Áferðin er öðruvísi en venjulegir varasalvar, þykkari og meira eins og vax. Ég nota hann áður en ég fer að sofa og þegar ég vakna eru varirnar ótrúlega mjúkar og góðar.

Síðast en ekki síst er það kinnaliturinn Warm  Soul frá MAC. Gamalt uppáhald. Ég litaði nýlega hárið hvítt (já, alveg hvítt - þökk sé hársnillingnum Evu Þórunni) og hef ég verið að fýla mig meira með minimal farðanir, svo ég endi ekki eins og einhver algjör skinka. Warm Soul gefur kinnunum fallegan lit og ég þarf ekki að nota sólarpúður þegar ég nota hann. Það er líka smá shimmer í honum svo það gefur húðinni fallegt glow. Algjört æði og klárlega einn af mínum uppáhalds kinnalitum allra tíma.

REVIEW | YSL BABYDOLL KISS&BLUSH

YSL KISS & BLUSH #05 ROUGE EFFRONTEE* AND #08 PINK HEDONISTE*

I recently got the chance to try out some gorgeous YSL products, along with other products I got two of the Babydoll Kiss&Blush - a product for both your lips and cheeks. Of course, it's YSL, so the packaging is beautiful and luxurious and the shades are just as stunning. I got the shades #05 Rouge Effrontee and #08 Pink Hedoniste. The formula is super velvety and lasts very well both on the cheeks and lips. The applicator is perfect to apply the product on to the lips but when using these on my cheeks, I like to dab some on to the back of my hand and use a stippling brush to apply it. I am using #08 on my cheeks on both pictures.

//Ég fékk nýlega smávegis pakka frá YSL, meðal annars fékk ég Babydoll Kiss&Blush - vara sem er bæði fyrir varirnar og kinnarnar. Eins og alltaf eru pakkningarnar hjá YSL gullfallegar en litirnir eru það líka. Ég fékk litina #05 Rouge Effrontee og #08 Pink Hedoniste. Áferðin á þessum er eins og mjúkt flauel og endast litirnir mjög vel! Bæði á vörunum og kinnunum. Það er mjög auðvelt að bera litinn á varirnar en til að nota hann á kinnarnar set ég smávegis á handabakið og nota Stipple bursta frá Real Techniques til að dúmpa honum á kinnarnar. Ég er að nota lit #08 á kinnunum á báðum myndunum.

I am loving these, they are perfect for a natural make up look and are super easy to apply. They've got 12 different shades and I've got my eye on one or two, I really want to try the orange one!

REVIEW | SLEEK POUT PAINT IN LAVA

As I've said so many times before, I've been on a total lip product kick lately. Whether it be a good nude, a bright pink or a stunning red - I am loving a good lippie. I recently did a review on the Sunset palette from Sleek and told you guys that Sleek recently launched here in Iceland. Well, I also picked up one of their Pout Paints in the shade Lava and I am loving it!

These Pout Paints have been compared to the very well known OCC Lip Tars. They come in a squeezy tube and a little goes a very long way. The color I got is called Lava and is a beautiful orange. I squeezed a tiny bit on the back of my hand and I applied the product to my lips using a lip brush. It's not completely opaque at first but if you apply 2-3 coats it is. The thing I loved about this, apart from being a gorgeous color, is the longevity. It has a glossy finish that actually lasts for at least 3 hours, after the gloss goes away you still have a nice color and at the end of the day you are left with a nice orange stain.

The other great thing about these is that you can mix them with other shades to get the perfect color you are looking for. I've already got my eyes on some of the other shades and I'm excited about giving them a go and mix away! Have you tried any of these Pout Paints? What are your favorite shades?

//Eins og ég hef sagt endalaust í síðustu færslum þá er ég búin að vera alveg vitlaus í fallega varaliti og glossa uppá síðkastið. Hvort sem það sé góður nude, bjartur bleikur eða klassískur rauður - ég er að fýla fallegar varir! Ég gerði nýlega færslu um Sunset Pallettuna frá Sleek og benti ykkur á að Sleek er nú í boði á Íslandi á haustfjord.is. Ég keypti mér líka einn Pout Paint af síðunni, í litnum Lava og ég elska hann!

Þessi Pout Paints hafa borið saman við sívinsælu Lip Tars frá OCC. Þeir koma í kreisti túbu og þú þarft mjög lítið til að fá góða þekju. Ég keypti litinn Lava og er hann fallegur appelsínugulur. Ég kreisti smávegis á handabakið og notaði svo varabursta til að setja litinn á varirnar. Hann þekur ekki alveg í fyrstu umferð en eftir 2-3 umferðir þá nær hann 100% þekju. Það sem ég elskaði við þessa vöru, fyrir utan fallega litinn, var hvað liturinn entist vel á vörunum! Glossinn helst á í allavega 3 tíma og þegar glossinn fer er liturinn enn á, í enda dagsins skilur hann svo eftir smávegis lit á vörunum.

Það skemmtilega við þessi Pout Paints er að það er auðvelt að blanda litunum saman og búa til þinn fullkomna lit. Ég er nú þegar með augun á nokkrum fallegum litum og hlakkar til að prufa að blanda þá saman. Pout Paints frá Sleek eru til á haustfjord.is og kosta litlar 1490 krónur! Mæli klárlega með þessum x

A LITTLE MAC HAUL

Yesterday was payday and I just so happened to be at the mall, so I decided to pop into MAC. I picked up a few things that have been on my wishlist for quite some time. I always end up getting so many things when I allow myself a little MAC splurge but I think was pretty good this time around! Only five products and two of them are quite boring ones.

Starting off with the two boring things, I got myself a MAC powder puff and an empty palette. I really like the new MAC palettes and have quite a few eye shadows and blushes waiting for proper storage so I thought that would do the trick. The powder puff will mostly be used when doing make up on clients so I don't smear anything on their pretty faces but I'll probably use it for powder from time to time as well. On to the fun stuff. Pink Lemonade is a Tinted Lipglass (it's a lip gloss, ok). One of my absolute favorite make up artists, Mathu Andersen, swears by this stuff so I wanted to give it a go. It's a beautiful coral pink. I also got the lipstick Twig and Whirl lipliner, I am guessing most of you make up junkies now what I am planning on using these two for - the Kylie Jenner lip. I'll be doing a make up "tutorial" on the Kylie look very soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that.

That's it, not really a lot to say other than - oh dear how I love me a little MAC splurge.

//Í gær var útborgunardagur og það vildi bara svo til að ég var í Kringlunni, svo ég ákvað að kíkja í MAC. Í hvert skipti sem ég fer í MAC eyði ég alltof miklum pening en í þetta skiptið var ég nokkuð stillt, bara 5 vörur og 2 af þeim hálf leiðinlegar.

Byrjum á því minna spennandi, ég keypti MAC powder puff (veit ekki íslenska orðið) og tóma pallettu. Mér finnst nýju MAC palletturnar vera mjög góðar og ég á ansi marga lausa augnskugga og kinnaliti sem vantar almennilega hirslu svo þeir munu fara í hana. Powder puffinn verður svo notaður þegar ég er að farða kúnna og vil ekki óvart klína einhverju á dömurnar en hann verður eflaust líka notaður í púður. Nú tölum við um skemmtilegri hluti. Pink Lemonade er Tinted Lipglass (varagloss), Mathu Andersen sem er einn af mínum uppáhalds förðunarfræðingum notar alltaf Pink Lemonade svo ég ákvað að prufa. Liturinn er fallegur kóral bleikur. Ég keypti líka varalitinn Twig og varablýantinn Whirl - þið make up junkies vitið eflaust hvað þeir verða notaðir í. Fullkomnar Kylie Jenner varir. Ég ætla að gera förðunar færslu bráðlega með Kylie lúkkinu, svo fylgist með.

Það var nú ekki meira en það. Mikið er altaf gaman að eyða nokkrum aurum í MAC!
