EYE LOOK USING THE MORPHE 35W PALETTE - TUTORIAL HERE

First off, sorry for not posting for a whole week - don't really know what happened there. I am here today to review the 35W palette from Morphe Brushes. Morphe is a brand that has blown up this last year and Fotia.is recently started selling their products here in Iceland (many of my newest posts have been on products from Fotia.is, I've been going a bit wild on there). Morphe Brushes is a very affordable brand, the 35W palette goes for $19.99 on the Morphe website (4990 ISK on fotia.is) so I was super excited to see how it would perferm.

The Morphe 35W is supposed to be a warm palette but there are definitely a few cooler shades in there, which is fine (except for that terrible silver/grey shade, I hate you). The palette has a nice mix of textures, lots of nice mattes and lots of beautiful satins and metallics - so there's something for everyone. Most of the eyeshadows are well pigmented, easy to blend and all that good stuff but there are a few that aren't 'oh-my-god' good. For me the bottom half of the palette is the best (the last two rows), the metallic/shimmery shades are gorgeous and the dark mattes perform beautifully (with the exception of the purple shade in the end, not a fan). Saying that, my favorite eyeshadow in the entire palette is in the second row, the matte orange one - you know I like my warm transition shades.

Sorry that this review is all over the place, it's pretty difficult to explain 35 eyeshadows in one go but yes, all in all it's a great palette (especially for the price!). I really wanted to be a good blogger and swatch every single eyeshadow but then I thought "let's not" - so I just swatched a bit of everything. This Morphe palette gets two thumbs up for me and I will be picking up another one (maybe something a bit more colorful)! x

//Í fyrsta lagi vil ég biðjast afsökunar á því að hafa ekki sett inn færslu í heila viku - veit ekki alveg hvað gerðist en jæja. Hér er ég þó í dag með umfjöllun um 35W pallettuna frá Morphe Brushes. Morphe er merki sem hefur orðið fáránlega vinsælt þetta síðasta ár og er nýkomið í sölu hjá Fotia.is (ég er búin að tala mikið um vörur frá Fotia upp á síðkastið, ég er að kaupa allt sjálf - ég er bara smá klikk). Morphe Brushes er ódýrt merki og 35W pallettan kostar litlar 4990 kr. á Fotia svo ég var mjög spennt að sjá hvernig hún stæði sig.

Morphe 35W pallettan á að vera hlý palletta en það eru þó nokkrir litir í kaldari kantinum, það er svo sem í fínu lagi mín vegna (fyrir utan silfur/gráa litinn, ég hata þig). Í pallettunni er blanda af áferðum, fullt af fallegum möttum og líka margir góðir shimmery/metallic skuggar - svo allir ættu að finna sér eitthvað við sitt hæfi. Flestir augnskuggarnir eru vel pigmentaðir, auðveldir í blöndun og allt gott að frétta en það eru líka nokkrir sem eru ekkert brjálæðislega spennandi. Mér finnst síðustu tvær raðirnar vera bestar - metallic/shimmery augnskuggarnir þar eru æðislegir og dökku möttu litirnir frábærir (fyrir utan fjólubláa í endanum, ekki mikið fyrir hann). Uppáhalds augnskugginn minn í pallettunni er þó í annari röðinni, mattur appelsínugulur - þið vitið að ég elska mjög hlýja blöndunarliti.

Sorry hvað þessi færsla er þvers og kruss, það er erfitt að tala um 35 augnskugga í einu. En já allt í allt er þetta frábær palletta (á frábæru verði!). Ég ætlaði að vera góður bloggari og swatch-a alla augnskuggana en ákvað svo bara að gera það ekki - svo ég valdi bara sitt lítið af hverju. Þessi fína Morphe palletta fær tvo þumla upp frá mér og ég ætla að kaupa mér aðra (jafnvel einhverja aðeins litríkari). x

NEW YEARS SILVER SMOKEY EYE W. BARE MINERALS

It's almost that day of the year, the day of glitter and OTT make up. I teamed up with bareMinerals and created this silvery smoke eye using their Afterparty* quad. Cool shades aren't really my thing but silvery smokey eyes are a classic new years eve look, so I tried it out and I actually quite like it! The eyeshadows are super soft and blended like a dream (that black was super pigmented but still so easy to blend), I was very impressed. For some glittery goodness I used a tiny bit of a silver glitter liner from the Body Shop, it definitely made the look a bit more glam. Obviously, you can't do a new years look without lashes so I used the very pretty Date Night* lashes from Tanya Burr - they are so pretty and add a bit of drama without looking too crazy. The rest of the face I kept pretty simple, a bit of glow on the cheeks and glossy lips. I hope you like the look! I probably won't have time to post more looks before new years comes around but I've done quite a few party looks already so feel free to check those out x

//Nú eru áramótin alveg að koma, aðal dagurinn fyrir glimmer og klikkaðar farðanir. Ég gerði þetta silfur smokey eye með bareMinerals Afterparty* pallettunni. Ég nota sjaldan kalda liti en silfur smokey farðanir eru alltaf klassískar fyrir áramótin  svo ég prófaði það og var bara nokkuð sátt! Augnskuggarnir í pallettunni eru allir rosa mjúkir og blandast auðveldlega (svarti liturinn var mjög pigmentaður en samt ótrúlega auðvelt að blanda honum), hún kom mér virkilega á óvart! Fyrir smávegis glimmer gleði notaði ég glimmer liner frá Body Shop, það gerði lúkkið meira glam. Það er auðvitað ekki hægt að sleppa gerviaugnhárum á áramótunum svo ég notaði Date Night* augnhárin frá Tanya Burr - þau eru svo sæt og gera förðunina aðeins dramatískari án þess að ganga of langt. Restin af andlitinu var nokkuð einföld, glans á kinnbeinunum og gloss á varirnar. Ég vona að ykkur líki vel! Ég mun líklegast ekki hafa tíma til að gera fleiri förðunarfærslur fyrir áramótin en það eru fullt af förðunum á blogginu sem hæfa vel fyrir partý þannig ykkur er velkomið að kíkja á þær færslur x

Last saturday night I went out for a few drinks with my girlfriends and I loved the way my make up came out. For me, the most fun thing about going out, is getting ready! I can spend hours and hours listening to my favorite songs and playing with my make up. This time around I went for a winged out smokey eye with a pop of gold on the center of the lid - it's actually very easy to achieve.

For eyeshadows I only used one palette (for me, that doesn't happen very often), the Lorac Pro Palette 2. After priming my eyes, I used the shade Lt. Brown with a fluffy brush and blended it into and a little bit above my crease. Next up, with a flat shader brush (MAC 239) I applied Cocoa to the inner and outer corners - leaving the center clear of any color. I then took a MAC 217 brush and starting blending and dragging the Cocoa shade out towards the end of my eyebrows (in a wing shape). You'll need to reapply Cocoa a few times and blend for a little while to get it dark and nicely blended. When everything is blended I took Rosé with my finger and dabbed it onto the center of my lid. To tie everything together I used a tiny bit of Lt. Brown again and blended out the edges. On the bottom lash line I just smudged Cocoa and Lt. Brown together. I used my face highlighter (Mary Lou-Manizer) to highlight under my eyebrows and in the inner corners. To finish everything off add a nude liner onto the waterline (if you want a more dramatic look, go for a black or brown), a bit of mascara and then pop on some gorgeous lashes (I used Iconic from House of Lashes, they are amazing!).

For lips I kept it simple, I outlined and filled them in with Whirl lipliner, Enchanted One (LE) lipstick all over the lips and added a bit of Pink Lemonade lipgloss on the center of my lips (all MAC products). Sorry for the terrible iPhone quality, I just snapped a few shots before running out of the house. Hope you like the look x

Mér finnst alltaf langskemmtilegast að gera mig til áður en ég kíki á djammið, ég get eytt öllum deginum sitjandi fyrir framan spegilinn að mála mig og hlusta á tónlist. Í þetta skiptið gerði ég smokey augu sem fara smá upp (í smá wing) með gylltu á miðju augnlokinu - nokkuð auðvelt augnförðun.

Augnskuggarnir sem ég notaði voru allir úr Lorac Pro Palette 2 (skrítið fyrir mig því yfirleitt nota ég endalaust margar pallettur til að gera eitt lúkk). Eftir að setja grunn á augun notaði ég litinn Lt. Brown í og smá yfir glóbuslínuna með blöndunar bursta. Ég notaði síðan flatan bursta (MAC 239) til að setja litinn Cocoa í innri og ytri augnkrókana. Með MAC 217 bursta byrjaði ég að blanda Cocoa skugganum og dró hann til hliðar (að enda augabrúnanna). Til að ná litnum dökkum og vel blönduðum þarf maður að setja Cocoa litinn á nokkrum sinnum og blanda alltaf vel á milli. Þegar það var orðið ágætlega blandað tók ég litinn Rosé með fingrinum mínum og setti á mitt augnlokið. Undir augun notaði ég svo Cocoa og Lt. Brown saman. Til að birta til undir augabrúnunum og í innra horninu á augunum notaði ég sama highlighter og ég notaði á andlitið, Mary Lou-Manizer. Til að klára augun notaði ég húðlitaðan augnblýant í vatnslínuna (ef þú villt dramatískara lúkk notaru svartan eða brúnan), setti á smávegis af maskara og setti Iconic augnhárin frá House of Lashes á (þau eru geggjuð!).

Ég hafði varirnar nokkuð einfaldar, ég notaði Whirl varablýantinn á allar varirnar ásamt Enchanted One varalitnum - á miðjar varirnar notaði ég síðan Pink Lemonade gloss (allt MAC vörur). Ég afsaka lélegu iPhone gæðin, ég tók myndirnar bara rétt áður en ég fór út. Vonandi líkar ykkur förðunin x

TUTORIAL | NAKED 3 SMOKEY EYE

I wanted to show you the first look I created with the Naked 3 palette, I really love it. It's a smokey eye with a pop of rose gold in the middle. A few things I think are necessary to have in mind when it comes to creating smokey eyes. Firstly you should know that smokey eyes never look good to begin with, they usually start off looking messy and splotchy but that's all right,  because in the end everything will come together (adding mascara can make a world of a difference). The next thing that you should know is that smokey eyes are all about blending. I like having at least 2 blending brushes, one to apply the eye shadow and also a clean one to blend everything out without adding more product.

When I do smokey eye, I always start off with a clean face and do the eyes first. When you are blending darker shades they tend to have some fall out, so it's a lot easier to clean it off and then apply foundation, rather then ruining the pretty base you've already got on!

1. Apply Blackheart to the inner and outer corners with a MAC 239 brush. This doesn't have to be perfect because it will be blended out. 2. Using a MAC 217 I started blending that out. After a bit of blending I added more of the Blackheart shade on the same places. I did this a few times until I reached the darkness I wanted. 3. I added a bit of Limit to blend out the outer edges. 4. Lastly I added Trick to the center of the lid with a damp brush (to make the color show up better). You have to pack on the color to get it really vibrant.

Before I did anything else I did my foundation and all of that jazz (list of products under the pictures). To finish off the eyes I took Blackheart and smudged it on the lower lash line. To make that softer I blended it with Nooner. I then took Trick and added in the inner corners to brighten things up. I put Rimmel Scandaleyes in Nude on my waterline and tightlined my upper waterline with black. Added mascara and voila! You are done. I wasn't in the mood for a super smokey eye that day, but I think it would look even better if it was a bit darker, to get it darker I would've simply blended a bit more of Blackheart on the lower lash line and added black in the waterline instead of the nude shade. And remember, lashes make every make up look look even better!

//Mig langaði að deila með ykkur fyrsta lúkkinu sem ég gerði með Naked 3 pallettunni, finnst það svo fínt. Það er smokey lúkk með rósgylltu í miðjunni. Það eru nokkrir hlutir sem þú þarft að vita ef þú ert ekki vön að gera smokey augu. Til dæmis það að til að byrja með líta þau yfirleitt ekki vel út, þau eru oftast hálf subbuleg, en engar áhyggjur, á endanum mun þetta líta vel út (maskari gerir ótrúlegustu hluti). Annað sem þú þarft að vita er að smokey augu snúast um að blanda endalaust! Ég nota alltaf allavega 2 blöndunarbursta, einn til að setja augnskuggann á og annan hreinan til að blanda í kring. 

Þegar ég geri dökka augnförðun finnst mér alltaf best að farða augun áður en ég geri andlitið. Dökkir litir eiga það til að detta niður og þá er miklu þæginlegra að geta þurrkað það í burtu án þess að eyðileggja meikið!

1. Ég set Blackheart bæði í innri og ytri hornin á augnlokinu með 239 bursta frá MAC. Þetta þarf ekki að vera fullkomið því það verður blandað öllu út. 2. Með hreinum MAC 217 bursta byrja ég að blanda því út. Eftir að blanda smá bæti ég við meiru af litnum og blanda meir, þetta geri ég svo nokkrum sinnum þangað til ég næ dýptinni sem ég vil. 3. Með smávegis af litnum Limit blanda ég út í kringum augnskuggann (þannig að liturinn fari ekki beint úr svörtum og í ljósan). 4. Næst bæti ég litnum Trick á mitt augnlokið. Ég nota flatan bursta og bleyti hann smávegis með Fix+ (hjálpar litnum að verða bjartari). Þú þarft að gera þetta nokkrum sinnum til að ná litnum nógu pigmentuðum!

Áður en ég klára augun geri ég andlitið (vörulisti undir myndunum). Til að klára augun tók ég Blackheart og setti undir augun, blandaði því vel út með litnum Nooner. Síðan tók ég litinn Trick og setti í innri hornin til að birta allt til. Ég notaði húðlitaðan eyeliner í vatnslínuna og svartan í efri vatnslínuna. Nóg af maskara og voila! Lúkkið tilbúið. Ég var ekki í stuði fyrir mjög  dökk augu en það er minnsta mál að gera þau enn meira sultry og dökk. Í staðinn fyrir húðlitaðan eyeliner í vatnslínuna þá myndi ég nota svartan og blanda meira af dekksta augnskugganum undir augun. Mundu að gerviaugnhár gera öll smokey look flottari!
