MAYBELLINE COLOR SENSATIONAL CREAMY MATTES IN DIVINE WINE, TOUCH OF SPICE AND DARINGLY NUDE

I like affordable things and I definitely like matte lippies - so when everyone was raving about the Maybelline Creamy Mattes I knew I had to pick up at least one (or three). These babies feel creamy (almost velvety) and have a nice velvety/matte finish. They are totally opaque at first swipe and glide onto the lips nicely. The word matte can be quite scary at times, as most of us have tried out terrible matte lipsticks that are impossible to apply and make your lips dry as a desert - but these Creamy Mattes don't feel drying at all. These bad boys definitely get two thumbs up from me; beautiful formula and great pigmentation for $5.49 a pop.. that makes me one happy gal!

Varalitirnir fá klárlega "two thumbs up" frá mér; frábær formúla og pigment fyrir $5.49 stykkið (keypti mína í Target í USA).. það gerir mig virkilega glaða! (Þeir eru ekki komnir til Íslands og ég veit ekki hvort þeir komi til Íslands EN það er hægt að panta þá frá Amazon og eBay (líka hægt með hjálp Verslaðu í USA))

REVIEW | MAC X NASTY GAL GUNNER LIPSTICK

Let's just get one thing clear : I love Nasty Gal, Sophia Amoroso isn't just a total badass, she's a huge inspiration. I've read #GIRLBOSS and it's pretty darn good, it kinda gets you in a superhero mood and makes you want to become a #GIRLBOSS yourself. But I am no book critic but I can tell you a few things on lipsticks. Recently Nasty Gal partnered up with MAC and came out with three stunning lipstick shades - Stunner, Runner and Gunner. I just so happened to be at a MAC store the day these came out so I felt it was a sign that I needed to get at least one. All the shades are very pretty but I went for the most unusual shade of the three, Gunner.

Gunner is a very dark purple with a blue undertone - a bit crazy but also crazy gorgeous. As with all the shades in the collection, Gunner has a Matte finish. It's not a very forgiving matte, so if you've got chapped lips make sure you scrub those suckers first because the lipstick will cling on to dry patches and look patchy, but if you've got super soft lips, you are good to go! Don't be too scared though, it's still creamy and easy to apply. As with most MACs matte lipsticks it lasts all day without feeling very drying. All in all Gunner is a beautiful and unique shade, I am glad I picked it up and I kinda wish I would've gotten the other ones as well. En ég er engin bókagagnrýnandi en ég hef þó smávegis vit á varalitum. MAC og Nasty Gal unnu saman að línu og komu nýlega út þrír fallegir varalitir - Stunner, Runner og Gunner. Það vildi svo skemmtilega til að ég var í MAC búð ákkurat daginn þegar þessir komu út svo ég tók því sem merki um að ég þyrfti að velja allavega einn. Allir litirnir eru mjög flottir en ég valdi þann óvenjulegasta, Gunner.

Gunner er mjög dökkur fjólublár með bláum undirtón - smá klikkaður en líka alveg klikkað fallegur. Eins og með hina litina í línunni þá er Gunner með Matte áferð. Hann er nokkuð vel mattur svo að ef þú ert með þurrar varir mæli ég með því að skrúbba þær vel fyrst því annars mun hann safnast saman í línum og verða ójafn. Ef þú ert hinsvegar með mjúkar og fínar varir þá ertu good to go! Líkt og með aðra MAC Matte varaliti þá helst hann mjög vel á án þess að þurrka varirnar. Ég er virkilega ánægð með Gunner, hann er fallegur og einstakur. Ég vildi eiginlega að ég hefði keypt alla þrjá litina, en jæja. Ætlar þú að versla þér einhverja úr línunni? Hver heillar þig mest?

AFFORDABLE FAVORITES WEEK | LIPS

Yes, I've done it - I have actually managed to finish off what I said I was going to do, a whole week/three blog posts about my favorite affordable make up items. We'll finish it off with some of my favorite lippies, lets go!

I'll start with lip liners; the EasyLiner for Lips from Jordana are great lipliners, super creamy but stay on very well. I have the shade Tawny which the beautiful Carli Bybel made very popular and Cabarnet, Tawny is a mauvy nude and Cabarnet is a dark burgundy - I really need to get more of these. NYX also has some great lipliners (very similar to MAC lipliners), I have a few but my favorite of the bunch is in Nude Pink. Now moving on to something I am slowly getting into, lip glosses. I don't own too many lip glosses but one I've used quite a lot is the Revlon Super Lustrous gloss in Super Natural. It's a very pretty nudy pink, maybe a tiny bit of mauve? It's perfect over nude or pink lipsticks and just the right amount of sticky.

Ok let's do lipsticks. First off is one of my favorite nude lipsticks, Rimmel Moisture Renew lipstick in Nude Delight. A gorgeous peachy nude, super creamy and comfortable on the lips. Keeping with Rimmel, I also love the Kate Moss line - shade 107 in particular; stunning matte (but not drying) wine red lipstick, great for the fall/winter and smells delicious. I love matte lipsticks and Wet'n'Wild seem to do them very well, the Megalast lipsticks are a big favorite of mine and I own about 10. Some of my favorite shades are Sugarplum Fairy (exact dupe for MAC Rebel), Cherry Bomb (very similar to MAC Diva) and Just Peachy. The packaging sucks but the shade range and beautiful formula make up for it. Yet another one of my favorite mattes is very new to my collection, the Sleek Matte Me lip cream in Rioja Red is a stuunning super matte dark red. It stays on very well but it goes a bit patchy when eating so bare that in mind. Sadly I couldn't photograph one of my absolute favorites because I've lost it, the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Nude-ist. You can read all about it here, it's gorgeous and I need to repurchase it asap. Last but certainly not least are the lipsticks that ruled the world a year or two ago, the Revlon Lip Butters. I own a few and I love them, super moisturizing and comfy on the lips. The shades Tutti Frutti and Strawberry Shortcake are my favorites.

Ég byrja á varablýöntum; EasyLiner for Lips frá Jordana eru frábærir blýantar, vel kremaðir og haldast lengi á. Ég á litinn Tawny sem gullfallega YouTube stjarnan Carli Bybel gerði vinsælan og Cabarnet. Tawny er nude litur í dekkri kantinum og Cabarnet er dökkur fjóluvínrauður (burgundy litur) - ég þarf klárlega að kaupa mér fleiri af þessum. NYX er líka með frábæra varablýanta (mjög svipaðir MAC blýöntunum), ég á nokkra en uppáhaldið mitt er Nude Pink. Við skulum færa okkur í eitthvað sem er frekar nýtt fyrir mér, glossar. Ég á ekkert svakalega marga glossa en einn sem stendur uppúr er Revlon Super Lustrous í litnum Super Natural. Mjög fallegur nude bleikur, fullkominn yfir nude eða bleikan varalit og er ekki of klístraður. 

Þá eru það varalitir. Fyrst er það einn af mínum uppáhalds nude litum, Nude Delight frá Rimmel (Moisture Renew línan). Nude Delight er ótrúlega fallegur ferskju nude litur, virkilega kremaður og þægilegur á vörunum. Annar frá Rimmel sem ég elska er úr Kate Moss línunni - litur 107. Ótrúlega flottur mattur vínrauður varalitur, góður fyrir haustið/veturinn (og lyktin er æði). Ég elska matta varaliti og Wet’n’Wild gera þá vel, Megalast línan er í miklu uppáhaldi hjá mér og ég á allavega 10 stykki. Uppáhalds litirnir mínir eru Sugarplum Fairy (alveg eins og MAC Rebel), Cherry Bomb (mjög líkur MAC Diva) og Just Peachy. Pakkningin er hörmung en litaúrvalið og formúlan bæta upp fyrir það. Enn eitt matt uppáhald er mjög nýtt í mínu safni, Matte Me í litnum Roija Red* frá Sleek. Guullfallegur mattur dökkrauður litur sem helst mjög vel á, ég mæli þó ekki með því að borða með hann á, liturinn verður þá ójafn og skrítinn. Ég hreinlega get ekki gert þessa færslu án þess að minnast á Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet í litnum Nude-ist, ég er búin að týna honum en þú getur séð hann hér. Ég þarf virkilega að kaupa hann aftur, strax. Síðast en alls ekki síst eru það varalitirnir sem réðu yfir heiminum fyrir um tveimur árum, Revlon Lip Butter. Ég á nokkra liti og elska þá, ótrúlega kremaðir og mjúkir og næra varirnar. Uppáhalds litirnir mínir eru Tutti Frutti og Strawberry Shortcake. 

Þá er þessi vika búin, full af ódýrum og góðum vörum sem vert er að kíkja á. Eins og í síðustu tveimur færslum vil ég segja ykkur hvar er hægt að kaupa allar þessar vörur. REVIEW | LIME CRIME GERADIUM

Lime Crime Geradium $18

Lime Crime has won the beauty community over with it's unicorn decorated packaging and unique shades. I've already done a rave review on the Velvetine in Suedeberry and it is now time to tell you guys what I think of the first lipstick I have from the company. Geradium is a very bright coral pink and screams spring and summer. It's neither matte or shiny, just the perfect in between. It is very pigmented and smooth on the lips. It wears off nicely and leaves a pretty pink stain. The only thing I didn't like about it is that the color looks a lot different on the pictures online. So the shade was a bit different from what I was expecting, but don't get me wrong, I am not disappointed as it is a very pretty shade. Can't wait to rock this with a lovely tan in the summer sun!

//Lime Crime hefur svo sannarlega heillað bjútí heiminn uppúr skónnum með einhyrninga skreyttum umbúðum og öðruvísi litavali. Ég hef nú þegar lofað Suedeberry Velvetine frá þeim og nú er komið að fyrsta varalitnum sem ég prufa frá fyrirtækinu. Geradium er mjög bjartur bleikur kóral litur sem öskrar sumar og sól. Hann er hvorki mattur né glansandi, heldur hin fullkomna miðja. Liturinn er mjög pigmentaður og mjúkur á vörunum. Hann helst ágætlega á og þegar hann er farinn af, skilur hann eftir fallegan bleikan lit. Eina sem mér líkaði ekki við vöruna, var að liturinn leit öðruvísi út á myndunum frá Lime Crime. Svo að liturinn var ekki eins og ég átti von á, en samt sem áður er ég mjög ánægð með hann því hann er mjög sætur. Get ekki beðið eftir að nota þennan í sumar með fallega brúnku! WET'N'WILD MEGA LAST LIPSTICKS

I recently saw a blog post on The Beauty Milk on the Wet N Wild lipsticks and I knew I needed to get my hands on a few and try them out myself! 

We don't have Wet N Wild in Iceland (we don't have anything here) so I went on eBay searching for these lovelies and I ended up purchasing 5 shades. I wanted to try out something I don't usually go for because they are so cheap so if I end up never wearing them, it wont hurt my wallet!

Think Pink #901B | A beautiful cool toned baby pastel pink. I usually don't like lipsticks this light, but wearing it and seeing it in pictures I actually think it suits me quite well!

Smokin'Hot Pink #905D | A hot pink with warm undertones, it's super pretty!

Sugar Plum Fairy #908C | The much talked about MAC Rebel dupe. I wouldn't know because I don't actually have Rebel, but I have seen swatches online comparing the two and they look pretty much the same. A very pretty plum color.

Cherry Bomb #918D | A dark, almost oxblood red. It's a really lovely color, but I find it makes me look a bit... old.

Vamp It Up #919B | Very very dark purple. On me this looked almost black, I definitely won't be wearing this one a lot, but I'm happy to have something like this in my collection! 

The lipsticks are all very nice, creamy and pigmented. They stay on for fairly long and they wear off very nicely (don't go patchy). 

The only bad thing about these is the packaging. It's not very sturdy and every time I try to take the lid off, I accidentally scrape some of the lipstick onto the lid! I think I might melt them into a lipstick palette.. Also  some of them don't have the name anywhere. On one lipstick there was only a number and on another one there was no color info at all! 

But for 3 bucks I can't complain!

Over all I really like the lipsticks and will definitely be purchasing more shades (and perhaps a lipstick palette)!

I've seen this tag going around for a long time and I've always that it was quite clever, so instead of doing a boring FOTD I decided to list down all the products I used and do the tag! This is a very simple look I go for a lot and I wore this last Sunday when I went to a birthday party for my 2 year old godson, Máni. (I don't wear this much make up on an everyday basis, I use around 5 products max everyday, because I'm lazy!) 

I have to buy most of my stuff online because we don't have a lot of make up brands here in Iceland, so plus that £173,85 I've had to pay for shipping and customs on most of the products on that list! and even though I was using a lot of affordable products, the total is super high! (for example I was using Wet N Wild products instead of my Lorac Pro Palette and my usual MAC blushes)

This was very fun to do and if you haven't done it I recommend you do! 

ps. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to include brushes in this, but I decided not to. Other wise that total would have gone through the roof!

MOST USED IN 2012

I really wanted to make a post like this before it was too late, so here it is! It was super hard to pick my favorites, at first I had a list of 26 products, but I narrowed it down to these 10 :) (this is for real the most used products of 2012, I didn't want to include products that I haven't really tested out too much)

1. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation

I have it in the shade 54 and it matches me perfectly. It leaves a beautiful natural finish on the skin, light to medium coverage but is definitely buildable if you need more. I like it for everyday use because it doesn't feel heavy on the skin, but I do often wear this when I go out since it doesn't have SPF so it doesn't give you that white cast in pictures plus it stays on very nicely. Great affordable foundation and if you haven't tried it, I recommend you do!

2. MAC Mineralized Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle

This gives me a nice shimmery glow (not too shimmery though), it gives my face that beautiful highlight everyone loves!

3. MAC Charcoal Brown

Definitely my holy grail eyebrow product! I use this seriously every single day! and I find it suits a lot of different hair colors. It's just perfect. 

4. MAC Peach Blossom

my favorite "my lips but better" color, I usually only use chapstick on an everyday basis, but when I want a bit of colour, this is the one I always use. Lovely soft pinky peach

5. Flora by Gucci

Amazing perfume that I've loved all year long (I had been spraying this on myself every time I went into a store that sold this, then I finally got it in november).

6. Morocan Oil Light

Everyone has heard about this and chances are you've tried it. This is just amazing, I apply it to wet hair and it just makes my hair silky smooth and shiny. 

7. Loreal Telescopic

Oldie but a goodie. This makes my tiny little lashes way longer, doesn't smudge and stays on all day.

8. Lorac Pro Palette

Great color range, great color pay off, great packaging! 

9. MAC Melba blush

This has been my go to blush this year, it's a matte coral-peach and gives me a instant healthy glow look!

10. Sleek Contour Kit in Light

I only use the contouring color, don't really care for the highlighter. But the contouring color is a nice natural contouring shade and not orange at all. Plus it's affordable and I love Sleek's packaging, it's so sleek hehe
